Queen Chung: It

Like most other girls in the UK, and all over the world in fact, I am suffering from Chung disease: an unrequited love for Alexa Chung. I have always admired her effortless elegance and ‘I just found this on my floor this morning’ look. She was the reason I bought an American Apparel grey skirt and navy blazer combo when I was 17, and why I had to cut my hair into a bob after lusting after her dip dyed locks and trying it for myself (unfortunately it turned yellow, hence the bob).
When I heard the style icon was writing a book I knew I had to buy it, and it did not fail to impress with insightful anecdotes, funny one liners and a wonderful array of photographs. Who isn’t a fan of a book with pictures?! The most interesting part for me though was her style advice. She give tips on that no sweat, effortless look and her clothing must-haves; denim shorts, a navy jumper and a white shirt.
The lighthearted book wasn’t a ‘tell-all’ about her personal life like most books written by celebrities, which I think was great. It kept that Chung air of mystery, but mainly her own well deserved privacy. If you are a fan of the style icon or just want a jolly read with lots of photographs, I would recommend “It”. Long live Queen Chung!
Have you read Alexa Chung’s book? Do you have an recommendations of similar books?
